God did some incredible things in and through the students, adults, staff and church plants that participated in PowerPlant. In the Church Plant Training, led by Walt Tanner, the church groups made a plan of how to reach their communities. They were challenged to make that plan happen in the next six months. Walt also challenged the students to not just be "Christ-like," but to "be Christ" in their communities.
The participants worked with nine church plants to engage and impact people's lives in a variety of ways. There were 23 decisions for Christ that we know of from PowerPlant! A special thanks to Mike Morris, from Oak Pointe Church, for serving as the Ministry Coordinator for this project.
Powerplant, sponsored through the North American Mission Board, provides meaningful missions opportunities for students in a church planting setting. Our goal is to: 1) expose students to the church planting environment in
Each day the participants receive training in evangelism and church planting before going to assigned ministry locations.
The Powerplant process has yielded many decisions for Christ and several continuing partnerships. We are praying that God will not only help the Upstate through the work of the students, but also that God will raise up a new generation of church planters.
Please be in prayer for next year's project which will be June 25-30.
